How do "Renter Reminders" Work For Tenants

As your tenants are moving into their new home, we will send reminders to ensure they have set-up their utilities prior to their lease start date.

Below we will discuss, the timing of notifications, and the different ways to start renter reminders for your tenants.


How to Start Renter Reminders

Reminders can be started in a variety of ways. Here are the different ways renter reminders can be started:

  • Daily sync report with your property management software

    • Daily sync report that is sent from your property management software

      • We take the move-in information given and ensure reminders are started automatically!

  • Starting "Renter Reminders" from your Synced Listings Dashboard

    • Use this feature if:

      • you are not syncing with a property management software

      • or know that a move-in will not appear on your daily sync report

    • How to utilize this feature:

      • Scroll down to your synced listings dashboard

      • Search for the address to start reminders for

      • Press the "Start renter reminders" button and enter the required information then click "Start Sending".

  • Renter's starting reminders on their own when they click on your platform link

    • When renters click on the custom platform link in your welcome email, they will be able to enter their information and in turn start reminders for themselves!


Timing of Reminders

Renters will receive reminders on a schedule. This will assist them with setting up all utilities prior to their lease start date.

Notifications are sent on a timely basis:

  • 2 Weeks Before Move-In: First reminder.

  • 5 Days Before: Second ping.

  • 3 Days Before: Third nudge.

  • 2 Days Before: Almost there!

  • 1 Day Before: Final reminder.


When Do Notifications End?

Notifications end when you complete the utility set-up form on the website by providing:

  • Account ID or Confirmation Number for each utility.

  • Activation Dates.

  • What do I do if I don't have an Account ID?

    • Select "No ID available?"

Once every utility has that done, you’re all set!


FAQs

My renter is not receiving reminders, what do I do?

  • Have them check their spam/junk folder.

  • Ensure their phone and email are correct if reminders have been started by checking under the synced listings dashboard. If not, enter the information to start renter reminders.

My Renter is Still Getting Notifications After Completing the Form

  • Double-check all fields, especially Account ID and Activation Date are filled in.

  • If it’s complete and notifications persist, have them contact support, and we’ll fix it quickly.
